Bad.

Ahem.

I could not even watch 1 whole episode.
I loved the original series and I'm always up for a dub, but this really felt like a shoddy fan dub with high quality microphones.
The voice quality consistency is terrible, one moment the characters sound good the next the have the wrong emotion put into the line.
The line up of voices is terrible too, and none of the voices suit the characters.
We've got a little boy who sounds like a fat woman, a middle aged man who sounds like a cool teenager and the 3 stooges sound... ugh!
If you've seen episode 12 where they say the following lines;

"YES WE CAN!"
"MUMMY!"
"I'LL BE BACK!"
"I SHALL RETURN"

These lines were said in English in the Original, but due to how it was Japanese, the translation was off and they kept it short and sweet.
But the dub keeps the lines EXACTLY the same but with no emotion delivered in them.

Squid Girl's "Geso" was replaced with fish based puns which is fine, it's the best they can do for this anime but at some points it just gets annoying.
The saving grace is that at times where she would have just said Geso, they replace it with "Squid", which can be cute on occasion, but it doesn't happen often enough.

Now you all know me as an Atheist.
I find it hard to believe what cannot be seen.
But now might be a good time to have faith and trust in that which cannot be seen.
I warn you, what you are about to read may be disturbing or hard to believe and understand.
You can turn back at any time.
You have been warned.

What does this all mean?
We can speculate.
Nibiru entering our Solar System could result in the Christian Bible's prophecies occurring.
The fire burning the land would be it's Sun passing a little too close to Earth.
100 Pound Hail would be Nibiru's asteroids smashing into the Earth.
The waters flooding the land would be the gravitational pull from the other planets effecting Earth's tides.

On top of that we have Solar Storms, Scientists predict one could hit Earth this year, but being so Tech-based as we are now, we'd be crippled badly. Perhaps the Armish had the right idea?

I'll leave you guys to speculate and think what you want, I mean all this could be nothing in the end. Just another doomsday theory that bites the dust when the day comes.
But if anything does happen?
Well, we were warned, right?

I managed to watch the entire series AND read an entire spin-off manga in 2 days.
New record.

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion

Let me start by saying it you have seen/read Death Note then you will love this anime.
I recommend the anime over the manga, as the manga is based on the anime but removes the Knightmare Frames.
What is a Knightmare Frame?
The year is 2017 of the imperial calender, an alternate version of our Earth and over one third of it is ruled by the Britannian empire.
One of the weapons used is the Knightmare Frame, a large robotic warrior manned by humans.
7 years ago, in 2010, Japan is taken over by Britannia for its precious Sakuradite reserves, a fictional material used in the creation of Knightmares.
Japan fought back, but ultimately lost, being the 11th country to lose to Britannia, the country and its people lost their rights, their culture and their name.
Japan was renamed Area 11 and it's people are simply known as Elevens.

Caught up in this mess is Lelouch vi Britannia, one of the many sons of the Emperor of the Britannian empire.
He and his crippled sister Nunnally were sent to Japan shortly before Britannia invaded by their father, abandoned after the death of their mother.
Lelouch, filled with rage for his father just casting him and his blind, paraplegic sister aside, wishes only for the total destruction of the Britannian empire.
Fast forward 7 years.

Taken in by the Ashford family, Lelouch and Nunnally changed their family name to Lamperouge and lived a calm life as Britannian civilians.
By chance, Lelouch ends up getting mixed up with terrorists as they were trying to escape the police. Without warning, the poison canister stolen by the terrorsts opens, revealing not poison, but a green haired woman, bound and gagged in a restraint suit.

Suzaku, a Japanese (Eleven) friend has become an Honoury Britannian, and it is he who finds Lelouch and the green haired girl. He's ordered by his commander to kill the "terrorist" and prove his loyalty as an Honoury Britannian, but can't bring himself to shoot.
This buys Lelouch enough time to make a break for it, but eventually he's cornered and shot at.
The green haired girl takes the shot for him before granting him an unnatural power.
The power of Geass -- The power of absolute submission.
With the simple command of "Die", the soldiers before him commit suicide...

With this new power to hand, will Lelouch be able to crush the Britannian empire?
Will he be able to usher in a new age of peace?
Or will he fall prey to his powers and become the enemy of mankind?

Why are you asking me this? Go find a copy of Code Geass and find out yourself!

Code Geass: Nightmare of Nunnally

As an alternate story line, this spin-off manga sticks to the basic story of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion.
However, instead of just Lelouch gaining a Geass, so does his sister Nunnally.
Nunnally gains the Geass power of reading the lines of the future, as well as gaining her own Knightmare Frame called the Mark Nemo through a clone of the witch, C.C. called Nemo.
Nemo feeds off Nunnally's negative emotions, anything Nunnally desires is fed to Nemo.
Nunnally thinks she can use her new power to end all fighting, but can the power to destroy be used to destroy destruction itself?
Find out yourself by finding a copy of this awesome spin-off manga!

"Now I face out I hold out
I reach out to the truth of my life
Seeking to seize on the whole moment, yeah!"
- Reach Out To The Truth, main battle music of Persona 4

I'm not surprised the best RPG to ever exist on the face of EVERYTHING would earn itself not just an Anime adaptation, but also a movie adaptation!
You heard me right, they're compiling the series into a 90 minute movie with some extra content.

Anywho, Persona 4: The Animation.
Have you played Persona 4?
No?
Stop.
Go to your local video game shop and pick up a copy.
Can't find one?
Play.com
It's not there?
Be a sneaky bastard and download that shit.
Don't have a PS2 to play it on?
Download an emulator.
Play this game by any means necessary!
I am not joking when I say this is the best RPG of all time.

But I'm making this to talk about The Animation.
So lets do this!
PERSONA!

Persona 4: The Animation follows as a direct anime adaptation of the PlayStation 2 Japanese Role Playing Video Game, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4.
We follow the Main Character, who in the anime is named Yu Narukami, and his adventures in the quiet town of Inaba.
Sent to live with his Uncle and Cousin, Ryotaro Dojima and Nanako Dojima respectively, after his parents are called away to another country for work, it looks like the following year is going to be a boring one.
But soon bitches get high as fuck, entering the TV and shit!
That's right.
Out of nowhere, Yu finds he is able to enter the TV. On top of that, if you watch your unactive TV at midnight on a rainy day, at the stroke of midnight the TV will turn on and show on screen who is meant to be your soul mate.
Freaky.
But very quickly things seem to get bad as those who appear on this conveniently named "Midnight Television Channel" wind up dead on a foggy day.
Worse still, they end up hung upside down from telephone posts!
Gasp!

Yu quickly makes friends Hanamura and Chie, his class mates, and together the end up entering the TV world where they face "Their True Selves", aka a Shadow created from their true desires.
Now at this point the reason for playing the game first becomes apparent; the anime skips a lot of minor detail which will leave viewers who haven't played the game confused.
For that reason, I am going to assume you've beaten the game and review this till the every end.

PERSONA!

The series is split into two halves, the first season closes with Kubo, the copycat killer, being caught by the gang.
The Anime actually does a lot more with various scenes than the game could, such as Kubo's shadow actually making Yu live the next few months alone before the illusion is broken by his friends.
Yukiko, Naoto, Kanji and Rise all join in after each facing and defeating their Shadow Selves and obtaining their peronas.
Unlike the video games, the gang don't actually fight, but instead they let their Personas do the fighting for them. However, when their persona takes a hit, they feel it full force.

The series balances the right level of comedy with fanservice in several scenes, mostly early on (especially with Kanji's Shadow) while still keeping to the story.
It makes reference to how the Main Character would often be away late at night all the time in the game if you took up every part time job, as well as making Episode 15 entirely based on their trip to the school in Persona 3 and making it purely a comedy episode!

However I left this series feeling unsatisfied...

BEAR-SONA!

The series covers right up until the gang catch Adatchi, however it ends there. There's no post scene, no epilogue and it's never covered how Yu, Adatchi and Taro gained their ability to enter the TV. Basically, the anime ends with the Good ending, not the Perfect ending.
During the final fight with the Ameno-sagiri, everyone's Personas evolve into their final forms, however Yu's Persona does not. Instead he fuses multiple Personas together to create the most powerful Persona you can get in the game. I found this to be a little anti-climactic, as the battle between Izanagi and Izanami would have been great to see!
Maybe this will be shown in the Movie, who knows?

In all, I'd have to rate this
:star::star::star::star::star-empty:
It stays true to the video game but leaves a lot of important questions unanswered to those who have not gotten the Perfect ending in the video game.

Stay tuned for more reviews, ones with less spoilers.
